Hi. I live in Los Angeles with my two sons and my husband. We have recently been “turned on” by the concept of woodturning and we are eager to participate and be mentored by anyone who might like to share their craft. Can you recommend a workshop or class or could we come down and watch the process? My husband’s uncle in New Zealand is an expert woodturner. He recommended that I find someone locally who can share their expertise.

Hi Stacie,
my recommendation would first be to check out Cerritos College. Their woodworking program is really complete, and you can take individual classes. From there, you can branch out.
Good luck!
